About Wild at Heart Rescue

Wild at Heart Rescue is a wildlife rescue organization located in Vancleave, Mississippi. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release sick, injured, or orphaned wildlife native to Mississippi. We are dedicated to educating the public about wildlife conservation and assisting with wildlife-related issues for federal, state, and local officials.

What We Do

Wild at Heart Rescue is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of Mississippi’s native wildlife. We provide expert care to sick, injured, and orphaned animals, preparing them for a safe return to the wild. Through public education, we teach our community how to coexist with native species and prevent situations that lead to wildlife in need. Without local, state, or federal funding, our life-saving work depends entirely on donations that provide food, shelter, medical care, and veterinary services for the thousands of animals we take in each year. Together, we can give wildlife a second chance — please support us today.

Our vision at Wild at Heart Rescue is a world where every wild creature in need is met with compassion, healed with skill, and returned to the freedom it deserves. We believe that through rescue, rehabilitation, and education, we can inspire a community that treasures and safeguards the wildlife we share our home with.
