Education & Outreach
Inspiring a wild heart in every generation.
At Wild At Heart Rescue, we believe education is just as vital as rescue and rehabilitation. When people understand wildlife - how they live, what they need, and why they matter - they’re more likely to protect it. That’s why education is at the heart of our mission.
From classrooms to community events, our goal is to empower individuals of all ages to respect, preserve, and peacefully coexist with Mississippi’s native wildlife.
What We Offer
• School Visits & Presentations
We offer engaging, age-appropriate programs for schools, libraries, and homeschool groups. Students learn about wildlife rehabilitation, environmental conservation, and how to respond responsibly to injured or orphaned animals.
• Community Events & Festivals
Our team attends local festivals and public events to educate the community, share rescue stories, and provide hands-on learning experiences that inspire curiosity and compassion.
• Virtual Programs
We offer Zoom sessions, virtual field trips, and pre-recorded video lessons, making wildlife education accessible anywhere.
• Coastal Cleanups & Conservation Initiatives
We don’t just talk about saving wildlife, we get out and do the work. Wild at Heart participates in regular cleanups and teaches volunteers the impact of pollution on local habitats.
Why It Matters
Education builds a foundation of awareness and empathy. It’s how we create a future where injured animals get help, habitats are preserved, and wildlife is valued—not feared.
When a child learns how to care for a baby bird, or a family discovers the right way to help a raccoon in need, we know we’ve planted a seed that could grow into lifelong advocacy.
