At Wild At Heart Rescue, volunteers are the heartbeat of everything we do. As a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit, we rely on compassionate, dedicated individuals like you to help rescue, rehabilitate, and release injured and orphaned wildlife across Mississippi.
Whether you’re feeding baby raccoons, cleaning enclosures, helping with laundry, or building new habitats - every task helps save lives.
Who Can Volunteer?
• You must be 16 years of age or older
• You must be reliable, responsible, and respectful of wildlife
• No prior experience required - just a willingness to learn and work hard!
Volunteer Opportunities
• Wildlife care support (feeding, cleaning, enrichment)
• Cage building, repairs, and maintenance
• Laundry and cleaning
• Meal prep for animals
• Marketing and photography
• Event support and fundraising
• Administrative help and thank-you cards
• Grant writing and supply coordination
• Animal transport (must be 18+ with valid license)
Please note: Direct handling of wildlife may require training or previous experience.
